DanceSPORT for Literacy 2008 RULES & REGULATIONS

EXHIBITIONS
Solos, or Formation routines must be 3 minutes or less. Music must be on a labeled cassette tape or CD or mini disc. Maximum of 3 solo exhibitions per student accepted. Exhibition critique sheet will be available to studio personnel on Friday after the day session at the registration desk.

ALL FREESTYLES & CLOSED DANCE EVENTS
Material used should be based on the NDCA Syllabus or its equivalent. International restricted to ISTD or IDTA Syllabi.

ALL AMERICAN STYLE BRONZE CATEGORIES (including scholarships)
No Continuity Style in the closed categories.

OPEN DIVISIONS
No restrictions other than the use of lifts except in the Solo division.

AGE CATEGORIES
Students may dance in an age category younger, but not older than their own age (excluding juniors). Amateur couples should enter the age category of the younger party.

DANCE LEVELS
Students may dance 3 consecutive levels and the open 1 dance of that style Example PreBronze Intermediate Bronze and Full bronze Plus Open Bronze 1 Dance.

SCHOLARSHIPS
All couples will compete against each other regardless of gender or age. Students may only dance in 2 consecutive scholarships within a particular style. Couples in scholarship events must enter the single dance freestyles for that style for each scholarship danced.

DRESS CODE
Ballroom & Latin costumes are permitted, but not necessary especially in the newcomer level.

MISCELLANEOUS
No smoking the stadium. Cameras are allowed in the stadium. For a camera pass, call Gail at 574-296-5890. A videographer will not be available. One trophy or plaque per formation will be given. Each junior will receive one participation gift.
